Danny is the embodiment of the American Dream, and he nearly has it all except of course for height and looks (blessed upon his cousins of course). While Danny's wit, humor and personality usually leave a lasting impression on everyone he meets and there is no shortage of words to describe him, I thought I'd take a moment to dig into the deeper meaning of Danny (which I think is a graduate course at Notre Dame) and recognize the positive impact he has on those around him.

Anyone that's spent time around Danny knows there's probably no one in history that has misplaced or lost more personal belongings. The guy loses a shirt, shorts, jacket, hat, pair of pants, set of keys, cell phone or PDA at a rate of about 1 item per day. The turnover on his wardrobe has to be higher than Paris Hilton's. But he's not your average absent-minded space-cadet. His mind is always moving at a million miles a minute and I think his brain is simply on a different wavelength than most of the rest of us. While most of worry about laundry and the weather and what time the game is on, Danny is likely studying and analyzing a higher order of stimulus and is probably busy plotting and planning and preparing for things the rest of us haven't even thought of. He has an uncanny way of seeing the world not just as it is, but as is could be, should be and will be.

Danny might be short on commitments, but he is long on loyalty. To those he loves, the bonds are unbreakable and you can always count on him to have your back. He sets very high expectations for himself and those around him. He believes in himself and in his friends and family. That attitude and confidence in others always seems to have a way of helping those around him maintain growth, improvement and optimism even in the face of adversity.
