Aunt Mia Uncle Donald

Back in the summer of 1971 when Patty was pregnant, Uncle Donald and I used to go over a couple times a month to play 500 Bid with them. Joe Cardella would razz Uncle Donald endlessly about his wild, kinky hair. Much to our amusement and pleasure, when Patty delivered, there was lovely Daniel, with the best head of curly hair you ever saw! Since Uncle Donald and I both love curly hair, the curlier the better, we were delighted. Uncle Donald says suddenly his hair was in style at the Cardella house, and Joe never said another disparaging word about kinky hair. Happy 40th birthday to Danny Cardella who made curly hair a very cool thing.

I am hoping to clear up a "misconception" about the conception of one Dan'l Cardella. I wonder if he realizes that the reason for his birthday being what it is, is due to the quick thinking of your parent's doctor who purposely scheduled this birth before the first of the new year in order to acquire a tax deduction for that year. Therefore, I always thought that Dan'l was an addition and a deduction at the same time.
